Die Kürbiskerne

Kürbisgewächse gibt es in über 800 verschiedenen Arten und sie zählen zu den größten Früchten der Erde. Botanisch gehören sie der Familie der Cucurbitaceae an und gelten nicht als Gemüse, sondern werden den Beerenfrüchten zugerechnet. Die Früchte zeichnen sich durch ein enormes Form- und Farbspektrum aus.
Kürbiskerne, das Ausgangsprodukt eines der besten und teuersten Öle, sind reich an ungesättigten Fettsäuren, den Vitaminen A, C und E sowie Kalium, Magnesium, Eisen, Zink und Selen. Weiterhin enthalten sie wichtige Aminosäuren und Phytosterine, eine Gruppe von bioaktiven Inhaltsstoffen.

Die Brennnessel

Die „Große Brennnessel“ gehört zur Familie der Nesselgewächse und ist in ganz Europa verbreitet. Hauptmerkmal der Pflanzen sind ihre grob gezahnten Blätter mit den Brennhaaren. Die bekannteste Gattung ist die „Gemeine Brennnessel“ (Urtica dioica), ihre Blüten sind weiß bis hellviolett, sie blüht von Juni bis Oktober.
Brennnesselblätter enthalten unter anderem Mineralstoffe und Vitamine, wie Kalium, Calcium, Eisen, Vitamin C und Vitamin E sowie Flavonoide und Kiesel-, Ameisen- und Essigsäure.

Die Sägepalme

Die Sägepalme (Serenoa repens) ist vorwiegend in den südlichen Küstenstaaten Nordamerikas beheimatet, ihre Früchte werden Sabalfrüchte genannt. Aus ihnen wird in der Weiterverarbeitung der Sägepalmen-Extrakt gewonnen. Die Sägepalme enthält Phytohormone, Flavonoide, Palmetto-Öl, Zuckerstoffe und Carotinoide.

Zink und Selen

Zink und Selen sind lebenswichtige, essentielle Spurenelemente und an vielen Stoffwechselprozessen im menschlichen Organismus beteiligt. Beide leisten einen Beitrag zu einer normalen Funktion des Immunsystems.
Zink trägt zu einer normalen Fruchtbarkeit und einer normalen Reproduktion bei und ist wichtig für die Erhaltung eines normalen Testosteronspiegels im Blut. Selen trägt zu einer normalen Schilddrüsenfunktion bei und unterstützt bei Männern die normale Spermabildung.
