Mit 95% Curcuminoiden und Piperin

Curcuma longa gehört zur Pflanzenfamilie der Ingwergewächse und wird auch Gelbwurz genannt. Die Pflanze ist in Südost-Asien und Indien heimisch. Dort wird sie kultiviert und zu Gewürzen sowie Currymischungen, oft in Kombination mit Pfeffer, verarbeitet. Sie ist prägend für die indische Küche. Traditionell kommt Curcuma als Lebensmittel im Ayurveda – etwa als Bestandteil der „goldenen Milch“ – seit langem zur Anwendung.

Ähnlich wie Ingwer hat Curcuma knollenförmige, gelb-orange, unterirdische Wurzelstöcke (Rhizome). Diese enthalten ätherische Öle und fettlösliche, sekundäre Pflanzenstoffe wie Curcumin, einen natürlichen, gelben Farbstoff. Nach der Ernte werden die Wurzelstöcke getrocknet und zu Pulver vermahlen. Der hieraus gewonnene Extrakt enthält einen hohen Anteil an Curcuminoiden, den biologisch aktiven Inhaltsstoffen der Curcuma Pflanze.

Tip: Curcumin is fat-soluble and can therefore be absorbed more effectively by the body when ingested with food that is rich in fat or lecithin, such as whole milk or soya milk. Together with the piperine contained in the capsules, the bioavailability can therefore be increased.

5 mg pepper fruit extract
of which piperine 4.75 mg

Three veggie capsules contain:

1500 mg Curcuma extract
of which curcuminoids 1425 mg
15 mg pepper fruit extract
of which piperine 14.25 mg

Curcuma is a natural product, so the colour of the extract may vary slightly. Please do not open the capsules as the Curcuma extract which they contain stains easily. However, possible residues from the capsule shell on the skin can easily be washed off.
